Product Details
This wonderful product allows you to make simple, economical room, body, and linen sprays!  No more paying to ship pre-made bases consisting of mostly water.

Simply mix 1 part Fragrance Oil with 3 parts Spray Magic, then combine the resulting mixture with water, alcohol, or a combination of the two to create the easiest scented sprays you'll ever make.  Spray Magic can also be used to make your favorite fragrances water soluble, for use in product recipes calling for "water-soluble fragrance oil".

Most fragrance oils and some Essential Oils work well with Spray Magic, but please be sure to test first before making large quantities. An easy way to make a small amount of body spray to test: Mix 1/2 tsp. FO and 1-1/2 tsp. Spray Magic, then add 4 Tbsp. + 2 tsp. of distilled water. Always stir gently - robust agitation will result in foam on the top, which can be skimmed off or will simply dissipate with time.

Some EO's will require 4 or more parts of Spray Magic, rather than 3, to ensure a clear solution when mixed with water... others (like Sweet Orange) will produce a cloudy mixture no matter what.  The cloudy mixtures smell (and work) just as well, but they're not as attractive ... you might want to consider putting them in opaque bottles like aluminum.  We've seen excellent results when experimenting with Peppermint, Rosemary, Lavender 40/42, and Eucalyptus.

*** NOTE 1 *** All recipes below are stated in parts by WEIGHT - a part can be whatever quantity you want it to be (1 ounce, 1 pound, 1/10 ounce, 4 ounces, etc.), but you must be consistent with the same size part for every ingredient in the recipe.  For example, if you're calling a part 4 ounces, then 3 parts would equal 12 ounces.

*** NOTE 2 ***If selling or storing water-based formulations for an extended period of time, we recommend using your favorite preservative to inhibit bacterial contamination, following the preservative manufacturer's recommendation for usage rate.  (Spray Magic's manufacturer suggests the use of ROE at .2-.5% or BHT at .02%.)

Water-Soluble Fragrance
1 part Fragrance Oil
3 parts Spray Magic

The resulting mixture can now be used in any of the recipes below, or in any formulation calling for "water-soluble fragrance".

Brenda's Favorite Room Spray
1 part Water-Soluble Fragrance (see above)
6 to 9 parts alcohol (depending on your personal preference for scent strength)

Too little alcohol will result in a thicker mixture that won't spray properly through fine-mist sprayers - 6 parts is the absolute minimum to spray properly.

Basic Room Spray
Recipe provided by the manufacturer of Spray Magic
10% (or 5 parts) Water-Soluble Fragrance (see above)
2% (or 1 part) Alcohol
88% (or 44 parts) Distilled Water

Brenda's Moisturizing Body Spray
1 part Water-Soluble Fragrance (see above)
6 to 9 parts distilled water (depending on your personal preference for scent strength)

Again, too little water will cause problems with fine-mist sprayers - 6 parts is the absolute minimum to spray properly.

Brenda's Linen Spray
1 part Water-Soluble Fragrance (see above)
1 part Alcohol
18 parts Distilled Water

Note from Brenda... I love this with Lavender 40/42 EO, spritzed lightly on pillowcases and sheets!

1 lb. of Spray Magic will make over 1-1/2 gallons of spray, depending on your desired dilution ratio!  Sold by weight.

LABELING INFO: According to the manufacturer, the correct way to label your sprays made with Spray Magic is to change "fragrance" to "water-soluble fragrance". The components of Spray Magic are the same ones used by many fragrance manufacturers in their FO's, and FO's are properly labeled as such, not with the individual components of the fragrance.
